La Salle County Municipal Court Warrants
Municipal court takes city traffic, parking, ordinance, and other Class C cases. Miss a setting there. A failure-to-appear arrest warrant can follow. An unsatisfied judgment can also become a capias pro fine after the statutory steps. The municipal judge drives this process. The sheriff does not. La Salle County has a municipal court in Cotulla and another in Encinal, and the notice should say which city holds the case. Neither city posts a public warrant list, portal, or online payment-and-recall form.
Cotulla's La Salle County Municipal Warrant Contact
OCA's directory puts Cotulla Municipal Court at 117 N Front Street, reachable at (830) 879-2367, with Presiding Judge Vicki Lee Rodriguez. The Cotulla city directory adds a municipal-judge contact route plus City Hall's general number. Neither page offers a live status tool. Nor do they post a warrant fee table or warrant-window hours. Treat the listing as a phone list. It is not a search result. Read the citation first. Call the court before paying or traveling. Cotulla's planning record says the city has no police station, which shapes the law-enforcement route but not the court's authority over a La Salle County city citation.
La Salle County Cities With Municipal Courts
The Texas OCA directory lists two municipal courts. Each keeps its own city caseload. A JP ticket written in the same part of La Salle County is a different case.
| City court | Published contact | Record route | Public portal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cotulla | 117 N Front St., (830) 879-2367 | Municipal clerk/judge | No warrant lookup located |
| Encinal | P.O. Box 120, (956) 948-5226, court@cityofencinal.com | Municipal clerk/judge | No warrant lookup located |
For city contact details, see the Cotulla warrant search and Encinal warrant search pages covering La Salle County.
Encinal's La Salle County Municipal Warrant Route
The Encinal staff page names Linda Ramirez as Municipal Court Judge/Clerk, with court@cityofencinal.com and (956) 948-5226. OCA's entry lists Presiding Judge Linda L. Ramirez and a P.O. Box 120 mailing address. City Hall staff sit at 701 Berry Street. So confirm in person or by mail. A city citation belongs with the municipal clerk. Encinal's police department page describes around-the-clock law-enforcement service. It posts no warrant search or status line. Use the police only for a safety or execution question the court sends there. The state's current judicial directory lists La Salle County's courts and municipal judges.

Directory results identify the court and judge, not the status of any warrant.
Checking a Municipal Court Warrant
Call the issuing city court with the citation or cause number, your name, and any recent notice in hand. Ask where the case stands: still a citation, an FTA arrest warrant, or a capias pro fine. Get the total due. Ask whether an appearance is required. Neither city offers an online lookup. If the court cannot hand you a document online, ask whether it holds the record or whether a county-held file needs a GovQA request. The county sheriff posts no public list. DPS OmniBase may carry a city-reported FTA/FTP violation, but DPS says its license staff cannot confirm a warrant in La Salle County.
No Public La Salle County Municipal Warrant Search
No city page or sheriff page here runs a municipal warrant name search. The OCA and city contact pages are locators. They point you to an office, nothing more. A payment portal for one citation does not mean La Salle County's cities publish a full roster, or that payment alone recalls the order.
Do not rely on absence. A city warrant may remain with its issuing court even if it does not appear on a county page or sheriff list.
An existing La Salle County record goes through the Open Records route. Describe the document you want. When the city keeps the record, ask that court.
Inside a La Salle County Municipal Court Warrant
A municipal record ties a citation number to the issuing city, the ordinance or traffic offense, the missed court date, the amount, and the judge's next instruction. The city pages post no number pattern. They list no status codes either. Use the citation number from your original notice rather than guessing from a La Salle County sample.
| Citation or cause | citation number from the city court paperwork. |
|---|---|
| Issuing court | Cotulla Municipal Court or Encinal Municipal Court. |
| Case type | City traffic, parking, ordinance, or Class C matter. |
| Amount and status | Ask whether the judgment is due and whether process is active, recalled, or served. |
| Next setting | Appearance, hearing, payment, reset, or other court-directed step. |
Chapter 45A for La Salle County Municipal Warrants
Chapter 45A of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure governs justice and municipal court criminal procedure. Article 45A.104 sets notice and recall rules for certain initial FTA arrest warrants. Article 45A.259 handles the capias pro fine. That one follows an unsatisfied judgment, with rules on the judgment amount and hardship protections. A voluntary appearance and a good-faith effort can require recall of specified unexecuted process. The clerk must identify the right provision. Neither city publishes a local form. No fee or payment plan appears either. Check the current Chapter 45A text and call the issuing La Salle County court before acting.
How to Resolve a La Salle County Municipal Warrant
Ask the city clerk for the exact warrant label, the case balance, and the appearance rule. Find out your options. A hearing, hardship request, payment, reset, voluntary appearance, or motion may be available. Confirm how the court takes payment. It may be online, by mail, or in person. Neither city names a payment processor, a partial-payment policy, or a bond amount. Keep the receipt or signed recall order. Ask when the city system updates; if the case went to DPS, check citation compliance separately after the court sends its report. Paying is not always dismissal of the underlying La Salle County ordinance or traffic case.
The Sheriff Cannot Recall a La Salle County Municipal Warrant
The municipal judge holds the pen here, not the sheriff. A La Salle County deputy can hand you a citation or serve city court process, but only the judge who issued it can reset a case, take payment, or recall a warrant. If the clerk sends a custody question to the sheriff, the admin line is (830) 879-3044 and dispatch is (830) 879-3041. Those desks will not recall a warrant. Cotulla leans on county law enforcement for police-station services, and Encinal's police department posts a public service page with no warrant-status tool online.
